About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Turn founder-led, scripted content into compelling visual stories
Use motion graphics, design, typography, UI, sourced footage, screenshots, imagery, music, and sound
Create visual explanations for concepts involving YouTube, media, business, storytelling, and creativity
Use pacing, visual reveals, pattern changes, sound, and editorial judgment to maintain attention
Source footage, imagery, references, and assets
Decide when visual complexity or restraint best serves the edit
Help establish Snowball's visual editing language and recurring creative treatments
Pitch creative solutions and strengthen work through editing
Collaborate directly with the founder and Head of Content Marketing and incorporate feedback quickly

Requirements

What you’ll need

Portfolio demonstrating more than clean cuts, captions, and punch-ins
Strong visual storytelling instincts
Excellent motion graphics and design skills
Ability to create visual treatments from scratch
Strong understanding of retention, pacing, rhythm, music, and sound
Experience sourcing footage, images, screenshots, and other materials
Good design taste and ability to present information clearly
Ability to move between highly designed moments and simple, confident editing
Ability to understand and build on established creative direction
Strong creative problem-solving instincts
Comfortable sharing ideas, receiving direct feedback, and working through multiple versions
Reliability and communication skills to work independently within a fast-moving remote team
Experience with After Effects or similar motion/design tools strongly preferred
