About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the capacity planning program end-to-end, from demand forecasting and resource modeling to procurement coordination and delivery tracking across Snowflake's multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Drive cross-functional alignment between Engineering, Infrastructure, Finance, and Cloud Provider teams
- Ensure capacity meets projected growth, seasonal demand spikes, and new product launches
- Build and improve forecasting models and frameworks translating business growth signals, customer onboarding patterns, and workload trends into infrastructure capacity plans
- Establish governance and review cadences, including weekly/monthly capacity reviews with engineering leadership
- Surface risks and tradeoffs and drive decisions on resource allocation and prioritization
- Identify and mitigate capacity risks proactively, including bottlenecks and single points of failure
- Lead constraint resolution before issues become customer-impacting
- Partner with engineering teams on workload characteristics, architecture changes, and new feature launches affecting capacity requirements
- Drive efficiency and optimization programs to reduce waste, improve utilization, and right-size infrastructure spend
- Develop dashboards, metrics, and reporting for visibility into capacity health, spend trajectory, and delivery timelines
- Influence infrastructure strategy with data-driven recommendations on cloud provider mix, reserved versus on-demand strategy, and long-term capacity investments
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in technical program management, infrastructure planning, capacity management, or a related discipline at a cloud-scale technology company
- Demonstrated experience managing programs across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts: compute, storage, networking, containerization, and resource orchestration
- Experience with demand forecasting, resource modeling, and data-driven decision-making at scale
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional programs spanning engineering, finance, and operations with VP/Director-level stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills — ability to synthesize complex technical and financial data into clear executive-ready narratives
- Strong program management fundamentals: dependency tracking, risk management, milestone governance, and stakeholder alignment
- Experience with infrastructure capacity planning at hyperscale (10K+ node deployments or equivalent) preferred
- Familiarity with cloud cost management and FinOps principles preferred
- Experience with data platforms, data warehousing, or database infrastructure preferred
- Working knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, or equivalent) preferred
- Background in building or improving automated capacity planning systems and tooling preferred
- Experience operating in a fast-growth, high-ambiguity environment where priorities shift quickly preferred
