About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Identify, engage, and build relationships with top-tier talent in maritime and climate tech
Partner closely with the People Team and hiring managers to understand hiring needs
Source candidates who will thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
Own sourcing strategy and build talent pipelines for Sofar Ocean
Manage the sourcing pipeline with minimal supervision
Meet and exceed sourcing goals in a metrics-driven environment
Serve as Sofar Ocean’s first Sourcing Partner

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of experience in technical sourcing or recruiting
Experience ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of technical roles, skills, and the technology landscape
Track record sourcing for technical and industry-specialist roles simultaneously
Candidate engagement and relationship-building skills
Comfort with metrics-driven sourcing goals
Boolean search skills
Experience with ATS tools, especially Ashby
Creative sourcing channels beyond LinkedIn
Ability to navigate change and ambiguity
Independent operator mindset with minimal hand-holding
Passion for Sofar Ocean’s mission
Located in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate
Willingness to come into the office 4x/week
