About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, support, and track the growth of software engineers at different levels through 1:1s, ongoing feedback, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
  • Lead performance review cycles, promotions, and career development plans
  • Participate in recruiting, selection, and onboarding processes, building high-performing teams
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, autonomy, psychological safety, and continuous learning
  • Ensure the planning, tracking, and delivery of team initiatives, aligning priorities with Product and the business
  • Manage capacity, risks, dependencies, and deadlines, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders
  • Track delivery metrics such as DORA metrics, lead time, and throughput, and propose improvements
  • Ensure that deliveries generate real value for the business and customers
  • Implement and promote modern development practices, including code review, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, DevOps, and trunk-based development
  • Support architecture and system design decisions, as well as technical debt management
  • Ensure standards for system quality, security, scalability, and reliability
  • Participate in technical discussions, incident response, and blameless post-mortems, promoting continuous learning
  • Identify and remove day-to-day friction for teams, including issues related to tools, pipelines, environments, and processes
  • Promote automation, standardization, and internal platforms that increase productivity
  • Gather team feedback and turn it into improvement initiatives
  • Partner with Product, Design, Data, Security, and other departments
  • Translate company strategy into clear objectives and goals for engineering teams
  • Support the definition of OKRs and the technical roadmap
  • Serve as a bridge between senior leadership and engineering teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong experience as a software engineer, with hands-on experience developing systems
  • Previous experience leading technical teams as a tech lead, technical leader, or engineering manager
  • Knowledge of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, and cloud computing (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices
  • Strong people management skills, including feedback, conflict resolution, motivation, and career development
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with technical teams and business functions
  • Results-, data-, and business-value-oriented mindset
  • Experience structuring or scaling engineering teams
  • Knowledge of observability, SRE, security, and platform engineering
  • Familiarity with engineering metrics (DORA, SPACE) and DevEx
  • Experience with OKRs, capacity planning, and roadmap management
  • Experience working in high-growth environments or with digital products
  • Intermediate or advanced English proficiency
  • Cloud, Agile, or leadership certifications are a plus
