About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Safely prepare, weigh, charge, mix, and process raw materials according to established procedures in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Independently measure, stage, and charge raw materials, chemicals, and additives according to batch sheets, formulas, and SOPs
  • Operate mixers, blenders, reactors, pumps, scales, and related processing equipment
  • Monitor and adjust mixing parameters, including speed, temperature, time, viscosity, and pH, to meet product specifications
  • Record process information and maintain accurate batch documentation
  • Start, operate, monitor, and shut down equipment safely
  • Inspect equipment for abnormalities and address maintenance issues
  • Perform basic equipment cleaning and changeover tasks
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures when necessary
  • Follow plant safety rules, PPE requirements, chemical handling procedures, and environmental guidelines
  • Handle hazardous materials according to SDS requirements and training
  • Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and incident reporting
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace using 5S and housekeeping standards
  • Perform in-process quality checks and quality testing
  • Collect and label samples
  • Notify the Lead or Quality Manager of deviations or irregularities
  • Provide technical support to engineers and help improve cycle time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety, and compliance
  • Monitor instruments and equipment, collect operating data, and assist with online adjustments
  • Analyze and resolve instrument and control-system malfunctions and deviations
  • Prepare reports using salvage tracking, trending, reporting, and root-cause analysis metrics
  • Maintain process designs while following SOPs and GMPs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Chemical Operator certification 1 & 2 or comparable technical training/experience in manufacturing
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a chemical or industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to be fully trained to operate all lines on the Production floor
  • Some experience with PLC-controlled equipment, batch processing, or automated systems
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO standards, Kosher, Halaa, and NSF Quality Standards
  • Ability to remain stationary, move, and climb stairs and ladders for extended periods during 8–10 hour shifts
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs, with assistance for heavier loads
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and manual valve operation requiring manual dexterity
  • Ability to work in elevated areas, confined spaces, and on grated platforms
  • Sufficient vision, hearing, and color recognition to read instruments, respond to alarms, and identify hazards
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including chemical-resistant clothing and respiratory protection, for extended periods
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, and outdoor environments with exposure to chemicals and odors
  • Physical stamina to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency situations
  • Unable to wear contact lenses
