About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute and maintain the Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety Integrated Management System at the Fort Scott, KS Manufacturing Facility
  • Provide direction and leadership to manufacture consistent, high-quality cleaning products
  • Update and maintain Environmental, Health and Safety Programs
  • Lead the site safety culture and model compliance with plant EHS policies, chemical handling procedures, PPE, LOTO, and emergency response protocols
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA and applicable environmental regulations, including EPA, RCRA, and SPCC
  • Conduct safety talks, behavior-based observations, near-miss and incident reporting, and corrective action follow-through
  • Verify safe operation of manufacturing equipment and safe line changeovers/cleanouts
  • Maintain ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications through program management and continuous audits
  • Develop and administer the site Training Program
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance to develop and implement QA processes
  • Develop and execute the site internal audit schedule
  • Deliver plant Quality KPIs through SOP adherence, training, and continuous improvement
  • Champion Root Cause Analysis for Safety Incidents and Quality Excursions
  • Use data to evaluate factors and resolve diverse and complex problems
  • Train the Manufacturing and Quality Teams on ISO requirements, laboratory techniques, safety programs, and regulatory and environmental procedures
  • Define performance expectations and assign projects for the Quality Lab Team
  • Lead and manage others effectively
  • Serve as SAP Project and Program Champion for Quality and Manufacturing
  • Manage the departmental budget and work with the Operations Manager to achieve budgetary goals
  • Report to the Plant Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field
  • At least 3 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment; chemical processing strongly preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of people leadership (lead, coordinator, or supervisor)
  • Proficient with SOPs, batch records, Microsoft Office and production systems (e.g., ERP/MES)
  • Strong technical understanding of chemical reactions, viscosities, temperature control, and raw material behavior
  • Strong knowledge of safe chemical handling, PPE, and LOTO
  • Ability to read P&IDs, SDS, and technical instructions
