About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Service standby generators and related equipment in the SE Nebraska Territory
  • Perform startup, testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on standby generator systems
  • Provide information to the generator division manager and inside service department to support final project services
  • Provide updates to the generator team
  • Recommend and communicate required repairs to customers
  • Complete continuing education to increase product-line and power-generation industry knowledge
  • Submit expense reports, quotes, job status updates, and other required paperwork timely
  • Follow up on projects to help ensure delivery, installation, and startup comply with manufacturer guidelines
  • Maintain good customer relations
  • Participate in onsite project reviews, open houses, and trade shows as needed
  • Inform customers about new products and changes to product offerings
  • Work closely with outside sales staff and Echo generator division team members
  • Report to the generator division manager
  • Perform other duties as instructed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for equipment repair
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including generator repair
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment safely
  • Experience in vehicle maintenance
  • Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting and repair
  • Previous experience as a service technician or mechanic is highly desirable
  • Sales skills are a plus
