About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Quotation Coordinator and Sales Team during the quotations process
  • Manage orders generated by the quotations team
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers to gather information and pricing for job bids
  • Interact with customers by phone to sell products and services, assist with selections, and provide pricing and availability information
  • Track customer promises and expedite deliveries to ensure materials arrive as scheduled
  • Maintain current inventory knowledge, including appropriate substitutions
  • Develop and maintain manufacturer contacts
  • Exchange customer needs information with sales, quotations, branch management, and corporate purchasing personnel
  • Develop product knowledge and understand product applications
  • Enter quotations into the computer system and forward completed documents to customers
  • Enter, track, bill, and expedite direct and stock customer orders, backorders, and vendor purchase orders
  • Manage job orders, including RGAs, defectives, direct invoicing/billing, complaints, expediting, and project reconciliation
  • Process material returns, vendor returns, customer repair requests, and vendor pricing or shipping adjustments
  • Monitor job queues and troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Prepare and document small customer project quotes
  • Follow up on quotations to secure orders
  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls and electronic messages
  • Use written communication internally and externally and maintain required software knowledge
  • Resolve customer concerns and support collaboration across branches
  • Negotiate special pricing contracts and maintain accurate documentation
  • Attend product sales meetings and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with secondary or post-secondary coursework concentrated on sales/marketing, or equivalent on the job experience as determined by Echo Electric
  • At least two (2) years of electrical or distribution experience and/or product and application knowledge
  • Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing profession behavior and interactions
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal formats
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, including an ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proven attentiveness to detail coupled with problem analysis and resolution skills
  • Proven proficiency in data entry and 10-key pad
  • Proven proficiency in general personal computer applications and Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Previous Counter or Inside Sales work experience preferred
  • Willingness to complete EDGE or EPEC within 18 months of starting job assignment
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, adding machine, and telephone for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to occasionally climb a ladder and step stool
  • Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 25 lbs. and may occasionally weigh in excess of 25 lbs.
