About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and architect end-to-end data integration solutions spanning Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure services, and downstream reporting surfaces
- Develop and maintain scalable, reusable, observable integration architecture aligned with data governance standards
- Translate business and analytical requirements into technical specifications, data flow diagrams, and implementation plans
- Define integration patterns, naming conventions, branching strategies, and deployment standards
- Evaluate Azure-native PaaS, Snowflake features, and Fabric capabilities and recommend solutions
- Build, configure, and maintain data pipelines and orchestration workflows across Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Blob Storage, and enterprise systems
- Develop and maintain Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory pipelines, and equivalent automation
- Implement infrastructure-as-code and pipeline-as-code practices using Azure DevOps, Git, Bicep, ARM, or equivalent tools
- Manage CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake objects, Fabric datasets, Power BI reports, and Azure integration resources
- Design and implement data models, transformations, and quality checks in Snowflake and Fabric
- Develop reusable Python or PowerShell automation scripts and utilities
- Partner with data and analytics teams to deliver Power BI and Fabric dashboards
- Optimize data models and dataset refresh strategies for dashboard performance and infrastructure cost
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies, pipeline failures, and dashboard issues
- Define and maintain data lineage documentation
- Monitor integration pipelines, Snowflake tasks and streams, Fabric data flows, and Azure Logic App runs
- Implement alerting, logging, and observability practices
- Investigate and resolve integration-stack issues, documenting root causes and resolutions
- Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for data platform issues
- Ensure integration patterns and data flows adhere to HIPAA requirements and organizational security standards
- Collaborate with application development teams on data integration needs
- Own Git repositories and enforce branching strategies, pull request reviews, and deployment gates
- Maintain architecture documentation, runbooks, pipeline diagrams, and operational procedures
- Apply platform updates, SDK upgrades, and dependency patches
- Perform cost and performance reviews for capacity planning and cloud spend optimization
- Serve as the primary technical owner of data integration and analytics infrastructure supporting Sound Physicians’ enterprise reporting and decision-making
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science degree with a technical major such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in solutions architecture, data engineering, or cloud platform engineering roles
- Demonstrated experience building and operating production integration pipelines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Snowflake expertise, including data modeling, tasks, streams, dynamic tables, Snowpark, cost governance, and cross-platform integration
- Microsoft Fabric expertise, including Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Semantic Models, and capacity operations
- Power BI expertise, including data modeling, DAX, DirectQuery/Import optimization, deployment pipelines, and gateway management
- Azure Integration Services expertise, including Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory, API Management, Event Grid, and Service Bus
- Azure DevOps expertise, including YAML Pipelines, Repos, Boards, and release gate configuration
- Working knowledge of Salesforce Data 360 and Salesforce Data APIs
- Infrastructure-as-code and automation experience using Bicep, ARM, PowerShell, Python, or equivalent scripting and CI/CD tooling
- Git source control experience, including branching strategies, pull request workflows, and repository governance
- Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS knowledge, including Virtual Networks, Azure Storage, Azure Functions, Log Analytics, and Azure Monitor
- Microsoft Entra ID knowledge, including service principals, managed identities, conditional access, and app registrations
- Experience supporting 1,000+ user data environments across multiple business domains
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum or similar delivery frameworks
- Experience translating ambiguous business requirements into actionable technical specifications
- Ability to communicate technical concepts, data flow logic, and platform recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate — Preferred
- Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate — Preferred
- Ability to work evenings or weekends occasionally, sometimes with limited advanced notice
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods, with breaks
