About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and teach assigned hybrid courses in the Physician Assistant program
  • Teach in areas of clinical and/or professional expertise
  • Advise didactic and clinical-year students
  • Assist with administrative coordination of the didactic and clinical phases
  • Contribute to curriculum development, including hybrid course design and implementation
  • Participate in curriculum evaluation and continuous quality improvement
  • Evaluate student performance in OSCEs, lab practicals, clinical reasoning sessions, problem-solving activities, and technical skills training
  • Review and evaluate assignments, projects, and presentations using evidence-based resources and citations
  • Develop course examinations and map questions to ARC-PA Accreditation Standards and the NCCPA Content Blueprint
  • Support accreditation efforts, program self-assessment, and review of the program’s mission and goals
  • Participate in admissions activities, including open houses, recruitment, application review, interviews, and student selection
  • Engage in service, campus and community outreach, PAC meetings, and scholarly activities
  • Participate in annual faculty development
  • Assist with clinical site development, monitoring, and relationship management
  • Provide remedial instruction to support student success and progression
  • Perform additional duties assigned by education directors, the Program Director, or campus leadership
  • Participate in required on-ground university activities, including orientations, immersive courses, remedial activities, graduations, and other events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Terminal degree in a healthcare discipline such as physician assistant, pharmacy, medical doctor, or public health
  • Minimum of a Master’s degree required
  • Eligibility for professional licensure/certification in the applicable state and healthcare discipline, if applicable, or an active, valid, and unencumbered state license
  • PAs must have graduated from an accredited PA program and hold current NCCPA certification or emeritus status
  • 2 years of clinical experience required, if applicable
  • 1–2 years of hybrid/online teaching experience in a graduate health-related profession highly preferred
  • Experience in PA/medical classroom teaching preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with student and staff populations
  • Superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite, ExamSoft, and WebAdMIT
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments
  • Ability to interpret and implement accreditation criteria and state agency regulations
  • Ability to resolve inquiries and complaints from employees, students, regulatory agencies, and academic or business community members
  • Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
