About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the organization's primary visual design resource
  • Create high-quality patient-facing, employee-facing, and organizational communications
  • Design print and digital materials, including patient education materials, brochures, rack cards, flyers, posters, facility signage, event materials, presentation templates, recruitment marketing materials, internal communications assets, and digital graphics
  • Translate complex healthcare and organizational information into visually engaging, easy-to-understand communications
  • Ensure designs align with accessibility, readability, and brand standards
  • Support systemwide campaigns, service line marketing initiatives, executive communications, and community engagement efforts
  • Serve as a primary steward of SEARHC's visual identity
  • Maintain and improve visual brand guidelines
  • Review and advise on branded materials created by departments across the consortium
  • Ensure consistent application of logos, typography, photography, color palettes, iconography, and design standards
  • Recommend updates to brand standards as organizational needs evolve
  • Develop, refresh, and maintain a comprehensive library of branded templates
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify needs and improve template usability
  • Establish quality control processes for current, accessible, on-brand templates
  • Organize and maintain the department's digital asset library
  • Develop naming conventions, folder structures, and governance standards
  • Ensure logos, design files, icons, and templates are properly stored and accessible
  • Maintain version control and retire outdated assets
  • Provide design guidance, coaching, and support to employees creating branded materials
  • Partner with marketing, communications, HR, clinical teams, operations, and leadership
  • Help build a self-service design ecosystem
  • Support print procurement and vendor coordination as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, Fine Arts, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing print, digital, and brand identity work
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • 3+ years of professional graphic design experience
  • Experience managing brand standards or design systems
  • Experience creating enterprise-wide template libraries
  • Experience with Canva Enterprise and Monday.com
  • Experience working in healthcare, nonprofit, tribal, government, or mission-driven organizations
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices for print and digital communications
  • Understanding of how design supports communication, engagement, and organizational goals
  • Excellent organizational and file management skills
  • Strong visual design and creative problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
