About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support all systems and infrastructure for SEARHC across internal and cloud platforms
  • Independently perform maintenance tasks, including installing infrastructure components
  • Create system documentation and procedures
  • Install software and firmware updates for infrastructure components
  • Uphold security configurations within systems
  • Provide Tier 3 support for issues assigned to the Systems Infrastructure team
  • Participate in the critical system support structure with other IT departments
  • Execute project-related tasks
  • Maintain and upgrade the Windows Server environment, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, enterprise backup, and enterprise monitoring
  • Participate in evaluating and estimating work requests and major projects
  • Maintain education and cross-training across IT Infrastructure areas
  • Prepare, lead, and attend training when appropriate
  • Assist management in identifying process improvement opportunities
  • Participate in team meetings, team-building activities, and departmental activities
  • Perform occasional after-hours work, including weekends, holidays, or non-standard business hours
  • Travel frequently to locations in Southeast Alaska

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma and demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the key responsibilities of the position
  • 2-4 years’ work experience managing Windows and Linux/Unix based server systems
  • A degree in a related field may be substituted for experience
  • Knowledge of AD/LDAP, enterprise anti-virus, enterprise backup systems, enterprise monitoring/reporting systems, and common databases such as Oracle/MSSQL/MySQL
  • Hands-on configuration, maintenance, and direct responsibility for enterprise IT systems
  • Highly proficient in Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS
  • Familiar with PowerShell
  • Familiarity with enterprise-grade system monitoring technologies
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records related to Infrastructure Systems
  • Ability to create, follow, and maintain documentation and checklists
  • Ability to travel as needed by jet, small aircraft, and ferry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a professional business manner
  • Microsoft or Citrix certifications preferred
  • BS in Information Systems or related field preferred
  • Scripting/programming experience preferred, especially Perl, Python, PHP, PowerShell, or WSH
  • Familiarity with ITIL, HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare IT standards preferred
