About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Southern Water’s Asset Maintenance and Standards operations within the Wastewater function
  • Update internal systems and track works, training records, hazards and store audits
  • Attend compliance meetings with other departments
  • Input pollution reports to maintain asset maintenance standards
  • Liaise with technical planning and scheduling teams
  • Plan complex works safely and resolve long-standing and reactive issues
  • Plan repairs, inspections and maintenance on treatment works and networks
  • Manage the team in the absence of Field Performance Managers
  • Deputise for leave and delegated requirements
  • Ensure performance continuity for an operational area and role succession
  • Complete statutory Health, Safety and Environmental audits, including SSI and EMS
  • Participate in a call-out rota twice a month

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Background in electrical and mechanical trades within a regulated environment
  • Understanding of Regulatory and Legal Environmental policy
  • Understanding of waste management licensing
  • Understanding of the Health & Safety at Work Act
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with various stakeholders
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
  • Full driving licence
  • Ability to travel across the area
  • Operational background with a clear track record of delivering health, safety, and environmental targets
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Successful completion of criminal record check (DBS) and employment and/or education history verification for the past three years
  • Successful completion of required security vetting
  • Wastewater treatment background highly desirable
