About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead, coach and develop operational colleagues to deliver safe, compliant and efficient asset performance
- Manage operational performance across multiple wastewater treatment sites
- Create an engaged, high-performing culture through effective leadership and communication
- Monitor performance and proactively address issues and risks
- Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, compliance and service delivery
- Collaborate with engineering, process science and support teams to resolve operational challenges
- Ensure operational activities comply with health, safety and environmental requirements
- Manage contractors and external stakeholders where required
- Support incident management and operational response activities, including an out-of-hours rota
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities benefiting customers, colleagues and the environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven leadership experience managing operational teams
- Experience leading teams across multiple locations or remote working environments
- Strong focus on health, safety and operational compliance
- Experience working within a safety-critical or highly regulated industry
- Ability to prioritise effectively and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing and empowering others
- Knowledge of treatment processes or process-based operations advantageous
- Full Driving licence essential due to site visit requirement
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Successful completion of identity, criminal record (DBS), employment and/or education history checks, and security vetting
