About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain a focused pipeline across English-speaking Canada outside Quebec through direct prospecting, SDR partnership, referrals, and existing market relationships.
  • Prioritize mid-to-high-market public-sector opportunities and maintain consistent territory coverage.
  • Lead discovery conversations to clarify agency needs, buying processes, stakeholders, and decision criteria.
  • Manage opportunities from initial engagement through negotiation and close.
  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and use Gong to strengthen deal execution.
  • Collaborate with solution consulting, sales enablement, and other partners to align SOVRA capabilities with agency procurement contexts.
  • Communicate deal context, risks, and next steps to supporting teams.
  • Represent SOVRA at relevant trade shows and industry events.
  • Maintain a healthy rolling pipeline and deliver against territory commercial commitments.
  • Develop expertise in SOVRA’s product and the Canadian public procurement sector.
  • Deliver consistent quarterly performance and independently manage the Canadian territory.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4–5 years of account executive experience with consistent results in complex sales cycles.
  • Experience selling software-as-a-service solutions in business-to-government environments; this experience is essential.
  • Understanding of the Canadian public-sector procurement landscape and how agencies evaluate and purchase technology.
  • Ability to establish priorities, create pipelines, and advance complex opportunities with limited local peer coverage.
  • Ability to navigate buying cycles ranging from approximately six weeks to twelve months while maintaining clear stakeholder alignment.
  • Practical experience using Salesforce and Gong to manage opportunities, document decisions, and improve execution.
  • Authorization to work in Canada.
  • Established Canadian public-sector network or market familiarity is an asset.
  • Trade-show selling experience is an asset.
