About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise and support Family Support Specialists and Family Resource Specialists within the Healthy Families Monroe program
- Assist with hiring, training, and ongoing support of the HFM team
- Provide and document weekly individual reflective supervision according to Healthy Families New York guidelines in the MIS system
- Lead weekly team meetings, including case consultation and programmatic updates
- Complete and support timely and accurate data entry in the MIS management system
- Monitor family intakes, assessments, and case closings to ensure compliance with HFNY guidelines
- Observe direct services regularly to provide staff guidance and support
- Assist in planning periodic family events and outings
- Partner with the Program Manager on funder reports and annual site visits
- Complete annual staff performance reviews and address performance concerns in consultation with the Program Manager
- Attend required agency meetings, including weekly supervision and departmental meetings
- Ensure funder and SPCC program outcomes are met
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated ability to supervise and support diverse staff with humility, empathy, and respect, particularly in high-stress work environments
- Knowledge of infant and child development and parent-child attachment
- Knowledge of parent-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect
- Experience supporting culturally diverse communities/families
- Willingness to engage in building reflective practice
- Detail-oriented, organized and strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to interact with professionals and participating families respectfully and genuinely
- Ability to lead a team and navigate crisis situations calmly and in a grounded manner
- Ability to navigate and maintain accurate records within the required MIS computer system
- Demonstrated commitment to humanity-centered care work and delivering services within a trauma-informed and equitable lens
- Master's degree in Human Services or a related field focused on working with children and families; or bachelor's degree in a related field with at least three years of relevant experience; or less than a bachelor's degree with commensurate experience in Healthy Families America (HFA)
- Three years of supervisory experience or five years of direct service experience in a home visiting program
- Experience with family services embracing family-centered and strengths-based service provision
- Experience in home visiting with a strong background in early childhood prevention services
- Experience with reflective practice
- Candidate must successfully complete all required background checks and clearances
- Valid NYS driver's license with required insurance
- Infant mental health endorsement preferred
