About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain, support, and further develop existing ERP systems in the retail, manufacturing, insurance, and banking sectors
- Analyze and design customer requirements and implement them independently
- Create clear, well-structured, and traceable documentation
- Support system modernization, including the transition to Full-Free RPG, the introduction of graphical user interfaces, and the use of web services
- Collaborate with a strong team on customer projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive experience in software development on the IBM i/AS400 platform
- Solid knowledge of RPG (from RPG III through Full-Free RPG) or COBOL
- Knowledge of database modeling
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn new skills or refresh existing knowledge
- Willingness to work on-site at customer locations occasionally (approximately 10–20%)
- Fluent German
- Good command of English
