About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain, support, and further develop existing ERP systems in the retail, manufacturing, insurance, and banking sectors
- Analyze and design solutions for customer requirements
- Independently implement customer requirements, including clear and traceable documentation
- Support system modernization, including migration to fully free-form RPG, the introduction of graphical user interfaces, and the use of web services
- Collaborate with a strong team on customer projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- (In-depth) experience in software development on the IBM i/AS400 platform
- Solid knowledge of RPG (from RPG III through fully free-form RPG) OR COBOL
- Knowledge of database modeling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn new technologies or refresh existing knowledge
- Willingness to work on-site at customer locations on selected days (approximately 10–20%)
- Fluent German
- Good command of English
