Art Supervisor

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop strategic creative concepts, activations, design systems, layouts, and executions from brief through final delivery
- Translate client objectives, brand strategy, and audience insights into compelling healthcare communications
- Design, revise, proof, and refine creative work across print, digital, retail, and video channels
- Supervise assigned designers and freelancers, providing direction, critique, and quality control
- Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports
- Partner with Creative, Client Service, and integrated teams to develop campaign materials
- Present creative concepts and final executions internally and externally
- Interpret feedback and apply direction to strengthen creative output
- Review wireframes and create comprehensive designs using UX and digital best practices
- Participate in new business pitches, project scoping, estimating, and defining creative deliverables
- Assist with onboarding and training creative team members
- Maintain weekly time tracking and ensure direct-report compliance
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable FDA, IRB, EC, and governmental regulations
- Support global client needs, including occasional evening and weekend work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 6 years of digital art/design direction experience, preferably within an agency and/or healthcare communications environment
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in design, visual communications, or a related discipline
- Compelling online portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, conceptual strength, visual craft, branding expertise, and execution across print, digital, and integrated channels
- Strong foundation in graphic design, including branding, typography, layout, print production, digital design, conceptual development, and pre-production/post-production processes
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Understanding of current UX, digital, and channel-specific best practices, including experience designing websites, emails, banner ads, and other digital assets
- Ability to analyze and synthesize complex design challenges and develop informed creative solutions
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate creative rationale clearly
- Ability to manage multiple brands, accounts, categories, audiences, and deadlines while maintaining high creative standards
- Experience managing, mentoring, and fostering the growth of creative team members or direct reports
- Collaborative, self-motivated, energetic, curious, flexible, diplomatic, and solutions-oriented
