About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the Accounting Manager
- Support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close processes, and financial reporting
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and recurring entries with complete supporting documentation
- Own assigned bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve or escalate open items
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes by completing assigned tasks accurately and on schedule
- Maintain general ledger schedules for cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, payroll, and other assigned accounting areas
- Prepare balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analyses and explain material or unusual activity
- Partner with Accounts Payable, Payroll, FP&A, Procurement, and business teams to improve financial data completeness and accuracy
- Follow U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal controls; surface risks or inconsistencies before reporting
- Document recurring workflows and improve accounting processes using systems, automation, and AI while validating outputs and protecting confidential information
- Contribute to finance system enhancements, special projects, and other priorities as the company and accounting organization scale
- Complete assigned close work by agreed deadlines
- Advance at least one meaningful accounting workflow improvement each quarter
- Provide timely, clear answers to finance and business partners and surface potential issues before reporting deadlines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a high-growth environment
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and standard accounting principles
- Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems; NetSuite a plus
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet software
- Demonstrated AI fluency and experience applying AI tools to increase the speed and quality of work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Active pursuit of CPA licensure is nice to have
- Experience in the healthcare or technology sector is nice to have
