About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own annual sales targets for the Apricot branded liquid handling product line across the Central territory
  • Present the company, its history, culture, strategy, products, and associated capabilities
  • Leverage the customer database to execute a focused East Coast US strategy with measurable objectives
  • Organize work according to company and personal priorities
  • Implement company product and market priorities
  • Develop and follow up on opportunities across product lines in collaboration with product specialists
  • Build consultative customer relationships and act as a trusted advisor
  • Position SPT solutions within end-user workflows and explain solution benefits using available communication tools
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of products and services and cross-sell the product range
  • Maintain application knowledge through training, paired field tours, and e-learning
  • Own CRM data and management
  • Conduct product demonstrations, outbound lead generation, and post-sales support
  • Support territory and key account managers
  • Manage the sales pipeline end to end
  • Solve customer problems and contribute as a key stakeholder in new Apricot product launches
  • Regularly travel within the assigned central US region

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Familiarity with automated liquid handling through professional or academic experience
  • Drive, tenacity, hunger to hit targets, and resilience
  • Growth mindset, curiosity, confidence, and willingness to learn
  • Self-starter attitude and accountability for territory results
  • Computer literacy and thorough familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of a CRM system such as Salesforce preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Persuasive and expositive presentation skills
  • Ability to present products formally and informally to individuals and large groups
  • Ability to interact ethically and professionally with the scientific professional community
  • Knowledge of the laboratory environment and sales cycle preferred
  • Ability to function in multiple safety levels of different laboratories
  • Ability to independently manage time and workload within an assigned regional territory
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in a Life Science discipline
  • Background in Genomics or Protein Crystallography advantageous
  • Education and/or experience in sales required
  • Ability to regularly travel within the assigned central US region
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn scientific terminology for laboratory-market sales
