About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the annual sales territory for SPT Labtech's liquid handling portfolio across Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska
  • Promote, develop the market for, and sell liquid handling and sample management product lines across the territory
  • Manage every pre-sale activity through purchase order and support post-sales activities
  • Work independently and collaborate with sales specialists, support, product management, and marketing teams
  • Schedule and conduct customer product presentations and demonstrations
  • Generate outbound leads and participate in trade shows
  • Manage the customer database and propose a global strategy based on quantifiable objectives
  • Organize work priorities to achieve individual and company goals
  • Develop and follow up on opportunities across product lines and collaborate with product specialists
  • Build consultative customer relationships and act as a trusted advisor
  • Position SPT solutions within end-user workflows and communicate solution benefits
  • Maintain strong knowledge of products and services and cross-sell the product range
  • Maintain application knowledge through training and support functions
  • Own CRM data and management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ideally located in the Texas area with an established network across the area
  • 5+ years’ experience in a capital equipment sales role in the Life Sciences market
  • Experience selling automated liquid handling technologies or familiarity with lab automation solutions
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in a Life Science discipline
  • Background in Genomics or Protein Crystallography is advantageous
  • Drive and tenacity, hunger to hit targets, and resilience
  • Growth mindset, genuine curiosity, confidence, and humility to keep learning
  • Self-starter attitude and accountability for results
  • Willingness to travel significantly, up to 50%, over the region
  • Based near a convenient travel hub
  • Familiarity with CRM use as a central sales tool
  • Experience with Salesforce would be desirable
  • Proven success and ability to develop business
  • Ability to make formal and informal product presentations to individuals and large groups, including physicians, research associates, purchasing groups, lab managers, and executive members
  • Autonomous, team player, and capable of working remotely
