About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to development and monitoring of the sales pipeline for new business within a designated territory
  • Participate in short- and long-range sales plan development and execution
  • Respond to customer inquiries involving quote requests, escalations, RFPs, and future-state needs
  • Support RFP and proposal development by reviewing requirements, coordinating stakeholders, assisting with proposal content and pricing inputs, and participating in presentations and procurement discussions
  • Identify and develop new customer relationships and expand existing customer relationships
  • Collaborate with company leadership on regional sales strategy
  • Visit existing and prospective customers to develop or expand relationships
  • Gather market intelligence on competitor offerings, pricing, distribution channels, and market trends
  • Participate in industry associations and conferences
  • Monitor performance of existing account relationships
  • Assist with special projects supporting sales initiatives
  • Sell hardware and software, consult on solutions, and manage accounts for small transit agencies and industry partners
  • Provide quotes and specifications, perform demos, and advocate for customers
  • Build account plans connecting customer goals to actions and future needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience working with customers in a sales, account management, business development, and/or customer success role
  • Ability to develop trusted relationships and effectively communicate customer needs
  • Proven effectiveness using professional sales methodologies and systems
  • Understanding of customer relationship management and cross-selling techniques
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to analyze rapidly changing circumstances and provide strategic and tactical sales advice
  • Effective oral and written communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to present effectively to diverse internal and external audiences
  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in progressive sales/business development with multiple services or product lines, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
  • Track record of success in building and growing a business
  • Resourcefulness and motivation to create new resources to aid the sales cycle
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus
  • Preferred experience in public transit/mobility
  • Familiarity with fare collection is desirable
