About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct analyses of Taxpayer Services eServices programs, services, policies, procedures, and processes
  • Identify and eliminate non-value-added process steps to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts for the division
  • Conduct routine quality assurance testing and compile regular reports
  • Perform complex and/or specialized management studies
  • Plan and conduct analyses of problems or improvement opportunities
  • Gather information by conferring with agency staff and outside entities
  • Develop and conduct surveys, compile information, document and analyze findings, prepare reports, and develop recommendations
  • Present recommendations to management and coordinate implementation of process improvements and systems
  • Develop and conduct Quality Assurance test plans
  • Build QA testing plans and conduct systems testing and analysis
  • Provide technical assistance and helpdesk services to internal customers
  • Troubleshoot customer concerns and problems and provide consultation
  • Remain current on taxation laws, regulations, policies, and best practices
  • Attend staff meetings and huddles; cascade and track information as needed
  • Complete required training and participate in assigned work teams
  • Complete metrics, projects, huddle boards, and reports as requested
  • Participate in 1:1 coaching with supervisor
  • Apply lean principles within the Arizona Management System and recommend process improvements
  • Maintain eServices policies, procedures, systems, practices, and operational manuals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years management analysis experience
  • Extensible Markup Language (XML) experience, including Altova XMLSpy
  • Quality Assurance testing experience
  • SQL / MS SQL Server Management Studio (database management systems) experience
  • Azure DevOps experience
  • Experience in tax-related service and administration preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer information systems, or related field preferred
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems using intermediate analytical skills
  • Knowledge of public administration principles and practices
  • Knowledge of business methods, procedures, and practices
  • Knowledge of automated information systems analysis, design, modification, and implementation
  • Knowledge of administrative study principles, research methods, and reporting techniques
  • Knowledge of operational/programmatic structures, legislation, rules, regulations, standards, policies, procedures, resources, and priorities
  • Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills
  • Effective organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in high-pressure situations
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Windows PCs, Internet, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, Sheets, Docs, and Drive
  • Ability to work the Phoenix, AZ hybrid schedule with occasional onsite work, 8 AM–5 PM
