About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform general radiology examinations according to department policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during fluoroscopy, trauma, and surgery procedures
  • Follow health and safety policies and procedures for quality patient care
  • Assist with quality control, performance improvement, record maintenance, statistics, student training, and special projects
  • Perform clerical duties, transport patients, and maintain supply inventory
  • Operate PACS, EMR, teleradiology, and StatRad systems
  • Position patients and operate radiology equipment to obtain high-quality images
  • Take preventative steps to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure
  • Recognize, report, and record observations and care provided
  • Keep units clean, clean equipment, and identify maintenance needs
  • Support Lean continuous improvement principles and organizational vision, mission, and values
  • Provide a safe, professional, confidential, ethical, and patient-centered environment
  • Use AIDET to prepare patients for radiology procedures and deliver timely, efficient, accurate customer service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a graduate of a certified radiologic technology training program
  • Current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) licensure
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiologic Technology (RT)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification, or must obtain within 6 months upon hire
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Must be able to work in various northern hospital locations if assigned to Redmond, Prineville, or Madras, with flexibility to work in all three locations
  • Competent skills working with PACS, EMR, teleradiology, and StatRad systems
  • Preferred: one year of experience in diagnostic radiography
  • Preferred ARRT credentials in MRI, BD, MAM, CV, or VI
