About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform general radiology examinations according to department policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during fluoroscopy, trauma, and surgery procedures
  • Follow health and safety policies and procedures for quality patient care
  • Assist with quality control and performance improvement measures
  • Assist with record maintenance and statistics
  • Perform clerical duties, transport patients as required, and maintain supply inventory
  • Participate in student training programs as requested
  • Assist with special projects
  • Work with PACS, EMR, teleradiology, and StatRad systems
  • Position patients properly and use positioning and placement protocols to obtain quality images
  • Set equipment to obtain optimal density, detail, and contrast
  • Take preventative steps to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure
  • Recognize, report, and record observations and care provided in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory agencies
  • Help keep the unit clean and uncluttered
  • Clean equipment and identify maintenance needs
  • Support organizational vision, mission, values, Lean continuous-improvement principles, and change initiatives
  • Provide a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Use AIDET to prepare patients for procedures and provide clear communication
  • Deliver timely, efficient, accurate customer service and patient care
  • Perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a graduate of a certified radiologic technology training program
  • Current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) certification/licensure
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiologic Technology (RT)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification or must obtain within 6 months upon hire
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely
  • Flexibility and ability to work in all three northern locations: Redmond, Prineville, and Madras, if assigned to a northern hospital
  • Preferred: One (1) year experience in diagnostic radiography
  • Preferred: ARRT credential in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Bone Densitometry (BD), Mammography (MAM), Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV), or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
