About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assemble case carts for surgeries
- Coordinate, assemble, disassemble, and distribute supplies for surgical cases
- Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize instruments and supplies
- Prepare cases and procedures
- Operate various sterilization equipment
- Re-stock department inventory and store instruments in the proper location
- Clean and maintain department equipment
- Support the organization’s vision, mission, values, and continuous-improvement principles
- Provide and maintain a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests
- Conduct activities professionally, confidentially, ethically, and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Deliver timely, efficient, accurate customer service and/or patient care
- Perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED
- CRCST certification from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management or SPD Technician certification from CBSPD within 18 months of hire
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely
- Ability to stand, walk, lift/carry/push/pull 25-50 pounds, grasp/squeeze, and use a clear and audible speaking voice and hear normal speech level
- Ability to bend, stoop/kneel/crouch, reach overhead, and lift/carry/push/pull 11-25 pounds
- Ability to climb a ladder/step stool, lift/carry/push/pull 1-10 pounds, and hear whispered speech level
- Ability to sit, climb stairs, operate a keyboard, and operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to work variable scheduled days on second shift, 1200-2030, 40 hours per week
