About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assemble and disassemble surgical case supplies and distribute them for surgical cases
  • Clean, decontaminate, sterilize, and distribute instruments and supplies
  • Prepare case carts and surgical procedures
  • Operate various sterilization equipment
  • Restock department inventory and ensure instruments are stored properly
  • Clean and maintain department equipment
  • Support the organization’s vision, mission, values, and continuous-improvement principles
  • Provide and maintain a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests
  • Deliver timely, efficient, accurate customer service and/or patient care
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must obtain Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management or SPD Technician certification from CBSPD within 18 months of hire
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift/carry/push/pull 25–50 pounds, grasp/squeeze, use a clear and audible speaking voice, and hear normal speech level continually
  • Ability to bend, stoop/kneel/crouch, reach overhead, and lift/carry/push/pull 11–25 pounds frequently
  • Ability to climb a ladder/step stool, lift/carry/push/pull 1–10 pounds, and hear whispered speech level occasionally
  • Ability to sit, climb stairs, operate a keyboard, and operate a motor vehicle rarely
  • Ability to work the scheduled Thursday–Monday, 0700–1530 shift, including weekends and holidays as scheduled
