About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide customer-focused service and support patient flow in a unit-based setting
- Perform patient registration
- Schedule patients
- Handle patient billing
- Assist with pre-certification, collect insurance information, and receive co-pays or bill payments
- Retrieve, release, or collect medical records
- Perform data entry
- Answer phones
- Resolve routine problems
- Assist with patient flow coordination
- Initiate follow-up with appropriate staff as needed
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local patient privacy and confidentiality laws, including HIPAA
- Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy toward patients, families, visitors, and employees
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school graduate or GED
- Medical terminology
- Computer fluency/literacy
- Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Organization and prioritization skills
- 1 year of experience in an office front desk type role, healthcare registration, scheduling or other patient-facing healthcare positions
- Ability to travel to the Ft. Thomas and Covington clinics
- Full-time availability for 40 hours/week on first shift
- No evenings, weekends, or holidays required
