About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide general medical services for the care and treatment of patients in practice and hospital settings
  • Provide comprehensive, high-quality, cost-effective medical care on a continuing basis
  • Perform patient histories and physical examinations
  • Assess patient needs and initiate treatment through prescriptions, diagnostic tests, examinations, and procedures
  • Review laboratory results and plan actions accordingly
  • Perform routine health maintenance activities for new and established patients
  • Adhere to approved standardized orders and evidence-based practice guidelines
  • Communicate with referring physicians, patients, and families
  • Educate patients and families on treatment, wellness, and prevention
  • Coordinate patient care and make referrals to other healthcare professionals and agencies
  • Collaborate with professionals, nurses, physicians, and outside agencies regarding patient care
  • Participate in quality, patient satisfaction, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Maintain knowledge of current medical practices and skills
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with safety and reporting requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school
  • Completion of residency and/or fellowship in area of specialty
  • Current or recent experience in area of specialty
  • MD or DO licensed by the state licensure board within the State of practice
  • Board Certified/Eligible in the area of specialty by the appropriate medical board
  • Ability to perform required physical and sensory activities, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and therapeutic procedures
  • Must maintain patient confidentiality
  • Must comply with Network and departmental employee, patient, and environmental safety policies
