About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete a full-time Operating Room RN internship supervised by the Operating Room Internship coordinator
- Participate in seminars, workshops, supervised hands-on training, simulation, clinical observations, and clinical preceptorship
- Become oriented to circulating and scrub roles
- Provide nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, evaluation, and documentation
- Work cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel
- Maintain confidentiality and properly release information
- Demonstrate St. Luke’s Service Excellence Standards in interactions with internal and external customers
- Comply with network and departmental attendance and dress-code policies
- Demonstrate competency in age-appropriate assessment, treatment, growth and development knowledge, and communication
- Upon successful completion, work in a St. Luke’s Operating Room Department caring for patients across their lifespans
Requirements
What you’ll need- Nursing students with prospective Spring/Summer/Winter graduation dates who will be eligible to sit for NCLEX and obtain licensure before the internship starts
- Experienced RNs who have not worked in an Operating Room setting
- Maintain current BLS certification
- Registered Nurse with a current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey for the Warren Campus
- Ability to provide care across patients' lifespans
- Ability to meet the stated physical and sensory requirements, including standing, walking, lifting, transporting patients, bending, reaching, and adequate hearing and vision
- Submit full legal name, current home address, and employment history for the past seven years
