About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide nursing care through the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and document care
- Work cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel
- Maintain confidentiality and properly release information
- Demonstrate the Network’s Service Excellence Standards in interactions with internal and external customers
- Comply with attendance and dress-code policies
- Demonstrate competency in assessment, treatment, growth and development knowledge, and age-appropriate communication
- Complete a full-time competency-based Operating Room RN internship with seminars, workshops, supervised training, simulation, observations, and preceptorship
- Transition into work in a St. Luke’s Operating Room Department caring for patients across their lifespans
Requirements
What you’ll need- Nursing students with prospective Spring/Summer/Winter graduation dates who will be eligible to sit for NCLEX and obtain licensure before the internship starts
- Experienced RNs who have not worked in an Operating Room setting
- Current BLS certification
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania, or New Jersey for the Warren Campus
- Ability to meet the stated physical and sensory requirements, including standing, walking, lifting, transporting patients, and hearing and vision requirements
- Submit full legal name, current home address, and employment history for the past seven years
