About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Enhance, support, and maintain assigned applications within St. Luke’s Health System
- Optimize applications through new functionality development, vendor release testing, system upgrades, and defect resolution
- Perform technical and functional application analysis
- Define system requirements and develop logical data models using best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional application teams and St. Luke’s clients
- Educate end users on system functionality and configure new tools to increase productivity
- Follow change management procedures and protocols
- Create and maintain application documentation
- Develop, plan, and execute testing for supported applications
- Communicate application changes, enhancements, and procedures to department teams
- Provide Level 2 support for application-related issues
- Participate in new implementation and installation project teams
- Troubleshoot, research, and solve technically challenging integrated-system problems
- Test and verify software releases, upgrades, and changes before production promotion
- Generate and update requirements, specifications, change control, and end-user documentation
- Provide end-user education and training on releases and functionality changes
- Create and route operational and management reports for management and regulatory agencies
- Maintain current technology knowledge through continuing education and related periodicals
- Participate in hospital/network committees as assigned
- Provide strong customer service and follow through on issue resolution
- Function as part of a team
- Provide required on-call support
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration or equivalent work experience is preferred
- One to two years of General Computer experience is required
- One to two years of Healthcare experience is preferred
- One to two years of Revenue Cycle Application experience is preferred
- One to two years PC/LAN Support experience is preferred
- PC and Printer knowledge and experience is preferred
- MS Office is required
- Application experience with McKesson Star, Hospital Information System, Scheduling System, Call Management System, MS Visio, and MS Project is preferred
- Hospital operations knowledge/experience in General, Radiology, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physician Services, Laboratory, Patient Care Services, or Patient Processing is preferred
- On-Call Support Required
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, lift objects up to 60 pounds, and push objects up to 80 pounds
- Hand and finger dexterity for repairs of small equipment and computer use
- Must complete application using full legal name and current home address
- Include employment history for the past seven years, including present employer
