About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain outpatient clinical and medical schedules using computer and manual methods
  • Liaise between client registration and clinicians to schedule follow-up appointments and psychiatric evaluations
  • Answer the secretarial support line, manage appointments, or triage calls to appropriate staff
  • Take payments and check clients in for appointments
  • Reschedule medical appointments and other appointments as requested
  • Maintain clinical and medical caseloads and monitor for inactivity and accuracy
  • Review previous day's schedules to facilitate completion of no-show letters, coding of medical staff appointments on superbills, and readiness of clinical team services
  • Review medical charts for next-day services to ensure information is ready for medical staff
  • Type correspondence, memos, and other project assignments as requested

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one year experience in the healthcare field required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Organizational skills required
  • Flexibility in meeting multiple demands in a fast-paced work environment required
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours at a time
  • Continual use of fingers for patient care, writing and computer entry
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally push a cart with supplies up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally push a wheelchair with a patient weighing up to 325 pounds
  • Ability to stoop, bend and reach above shoulder level
  • Ability to hear normal conversation and have good general, near and peripheral vision
