About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a passionate patient advocate and create a unique, exceptional patient experience
- Drive a patient-centric culture while facilitating practice-based administrative and patient support services
- Engage patients politely, promptly, and compassionately during practice-based interactions
- Perform check-in, patient consent, check-out, pre-registration, eligibility verification, registration, MyChart education, scheduling, point-of-service payment collection, and address patient inquiries
- Deliver waiting room concierge service and support patients using kiosk check-in
- Facilitate practice opening and closing procedures, cleanliness, incoming mail and deliveries, cash management and reconciliation, and scanning/indexing incoming faxes
- Address in-basket clerical pool messages
- Partner with Access Center Patient Engagement Partners on time-sensitive scheduling requests
- Connect Access Center Clinical Triage Specialists with practice-based care team members for time-sensitive clinical inquiries
- Anticipate and address patient needs by partnering with organizational team members and departments
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Preference given to graduates of administrative training programs
- Minimum one year practice-based experience or in a similar healthcare setting preferred
- Customer Service experience preferred
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Focused on compliance

- Ability to communicate to patients concisely and clearly
- Ability to listen, express compassion and empathy, and communicate with a patient centric mindset
- Requires sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours at a time)
- Requires continual use of fingers for patient care, writing and computer entry
- Occasional requirement to lift up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally push carts with supplies up to 30 pounds
- Occasionally push wheelchairs with patients weighing up to 325 pounds
- Ability to stoop, bend and reach above shoulder level
- Ability to hear normal conversation and good general, near and peripheral vision
