About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide patient-centered, high-quality transthoracic adult and pediatric, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography exams
  • Utilize M-mode, two-dimensional, Doppler, contrast, three-dimensional, strain, strain-rate, and speckle-tracking modalities
  • Provide the total patient exam experience according to echocardiography policies and procedures
  • Assist physicians during appropriate examinations
  • Assist with gathering and recording Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement information for ICAEL accreditation
  • Maintain professional development through in-services and continuing medical education
  • Maintain cleanliness of workspace and equipment and restock supplies
  • Cross-train to assist with EKGs, Holter and event monitor placement, and stress testing
  • Process echo images and documentation into the echo structured reporting system
  • Complete required documentation and departmental paperwork

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school graduate
  • Graduate of an accredited/approved Cardiovascular Technology program or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Cardiac Ultrasound preferred
  • Registry by Cardiovascular Credentialing International/National Board of Cardiovascular Testing, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
  • Ability to identify patients using two identifiers
  • Knowledge of echo image processing and documentation in structured reporting systems
  • Competency with required department information service applications
  • Knowledge of insurance codes, cardiology procedures, and required paperwork
  • Ability to meet the stated physical and sensory requirements, including frequent patient repositioning, equipment transport, and pushing echo equipment weighing approximately 440+ lbs
