About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide health care to patients while working closely with the health care team
Collect data and implement patient care under the discretion of an RN mentor
Participate in individualized patient care based on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Observe RN practice in specialty areas
Follow treatment plans as directed by licensed personnel
Perform vital signs, intake and output measurements, glucometry, specimen collection, patient ADLs, and supply/equipment maintenance
Assist with admissions and document in the admission database
Communicate patient condition changes to the RN
Document assigned responsibilities
Assist the RN with patient assessment, care planning, interventions, evaluation, documentation, and prioritization
Assist with procedure setup and cleanup
Observe medication administration by the RN and complete medication administration forms
Maintain patient confidentiality, safety, attendance, dress-code, and departmental policy compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need

Currently enrolled in a baccalaureate nursing program
Successfully completed junior year and entering senior year of the nursing program
Two written instructor references
High school graduate or equivalent
Current BLS/CPR certification
Ability to read, write, and understand English
Ability to meet the stated physical and sensory requirements
Must attend St. Luke’s University Health Network orientation for this position
