About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join the St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside 2027 Graduate Registered Nurse Program in February 2027
- Work in an acute hospital environment across perioperative, acute ward-based specialties or emergency nursing
- Rotate through specialties including theatre, recovery, endoscopy, cardiac catheter laboratory, urology, orthopaedics, neurology, oncology/haematology, palliative care, general medical and surgical, gastrointestinal, colorectal and bariatric surgical, medical cardiology, and cardiothoracic and vascular surgical areas
- Provide compassionate, patient-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Participate in a 52-week graduate program from February 2027 to February 2028
- Receive guidance, structure, mentorship and encouragement from Clinical Nurses (Education), experienced preceptors and the Graduate Program Coordinator
- Consider specialty preferences and career goals when placing graduates
- Participate in rostered shifts across a 7-day week
- Potentially transition into Critical Care (ICU) Nursing after the graduate year
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse prior to program commencement
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Well-developed skills in delivering compassionate, patient-centred care
- Recent clinical placement experience in an acute hospital setting
- If applying for an Emergency Nursing stream, recent clinical experience in an Emergency Department is preferred
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts across a 7-day week, including early, late and night shifts (nights on wards only)
- Must have working rights in Australia
- Must meet work health and safety requirements concerning vaccine preventable diseases in healthcare settings
- Current resume or CV
- Cover letter of no more than 2 pages
- ANSAT interim and final reports from most recent two placements
