About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary ward team under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Unit Manager or equivalent
- Assist and support Registered and Enrolled Nurses
- Complete supervised or delegated work accurately in accordance with St Vincent's policies and procedures
- Participate in delegated patient care, including personal hygiene, nutritional needs, mobility, transfers and positioning, and elimination needs
- Maintain patient privacy and dignity at all times
Requirements
What you’ll need- Certificate III Health Assistant (Nursing) or second year undergraduate nursing student (Bachelor/Masters of Nursing) equivalent
- Current National Criminal History check, or willing to obtain
- Current National Disability Insurance Scheme check, or willing to obtain
- Available to work a minimum of one shift per 3 calendar months
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, patients and families
- Reliable team player able to work within a multidisciplinary team
- May be required to undergo mandatory immunisations/vaccinations, including flu vaccinations
