About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform a variety of duties under the general direction of the imaging services manager
  • Assist with patient flow for all imaging subdepartments
  • Assist technologists with paratechnical aspects of patient exams
  • Maintain exam room supply levels and clean work areas
  • Assist front office staff with patient scheduling, check-in, and related clerical duties
  • Report problems to the supervisor
  • Assist physicians during injections
  • Transport and assist nonambulatory patients to and from exam tables
  • Expedite patient throughput by assisting technologists with exam completion via IDXRad
  • Prepare exams for reading and deliver films to patients or reading rooms as needed
  • Inform patients about exam status, start times, and delays
  • Assist with health questionnaires and consent forms
  • Track daily productivity and fax preliminary radiology reports to appropriate clinicians
  • Run films through the processor and verify all series are filmed
  • Set up exam rooms for procedures, including coils, trays, and injection preparation
  • Assist patients with changing and provide lockers for valuables
  • Answer patient questions related to exams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • One (1) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Must adhere to SHC Commitment to Providing an Exceptional Patient & Family Experience and C-I-CARE standards
