About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in Stanley Black & Decker’s Commercial Sales Leadership Program
- Complete 2–3 rotational assignments across Retail, Commercial & Industrial End User, and Sales Support
- Work onsite within retail stores to gain product knowledge, drive end-user sales and engagement, and identify sales and service opportunities
- Deliver store presentations to key decision makers and train and educate store associates
- Conduct daily job-site visits to drive end-user engagement
- Engage professional end users and develop relationships with trade associations, safety personnel, engineers, quality managers, general managers, line supervisors, chief mechanics, purchasing teams, and other stakeholders
- Execute purchasing processes and align efforts with local market teams, product managers, distributors, and service centers
- Provide operational and analytical support to Tools & Outdoor sales teams
- Collaborate with product, brand, channel, operations, and finance teams on strategic initiatives to maximize sales and profitability
- Track price blocks, product quality issues, delayed shipments, merchandising fulfillment, promotions, and program effectiveness
- Recommend program improvements and manage competitive retail comparisons
- Execute and track POP, merchandising, advertising, and monthly flyer initiatives
- Approve and track promotional target funds
- Develop training materials and manage merchandising overdrive programs
- Manage sales technology and analytics including Salesforce, Showpad, and Power BI
- Manage demo tool and POS driver inventory
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Communications, Psychology, Business, or related majors
- Recent graduate or early-career professional with less than 2 years of professional experience, including internship/co-op experience
- Demonstrated leadership values and behaviors
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, learning agility, and accountability
- Ability to analyze Power BI and Salesforce data to develop strategic growth plans
- Goal-oriented and driven to achieve measurable sales results
- Product and market knowledge applicable to driving sales
- Flexibility toward change and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated promotional and event success using creativity and problem-solving
- Knowledge of IT business systems including BW, Salesforce.com, and Tool Commerce
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Willingness to relocate anywhere within the US for 2–3 rotations
- Willingness to travel and work occasional weekends, approximately 8–10 annually
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record screening
- Ability to pass drug and criminal background checks
- Authorized to work for any employer in the US without employer sponsorship for an employment visa
- Ability to handle, train on, and demonstrate products, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform physical labor, including climbing ladders and standing for several hours daily
