About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in the Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Program as part of the Commercial Sales team
- Complete three rotations across Retail, Commercial & Industrial End User, and Sales Support
- Work onsite within retail stores to gain product knowledge and drive end-user sales and engagement
- Deliver store presentations to key decision makers and identify sales and service opportunities
- Train and educate store associates to drive end-user sales and meet top-line sales goals
- Conduct daily job site visits to drive end-user engagement
- Engage professional end users and develop end-user relationships
- Contact trade associations, safety personnel, engineers, quality managers, general managers, line supervisors, chief mechanics, and purchasing stakeholders
- Execute purchasing processes across central and facility operations
- Align efforts with local market teams, product managers, local distributors, and service centers
- Provide operational and analytical support to Tools & Outdoor sales teams
- Collaborate with product, brand, channel, operations, and finance partners
- Track and resolve pricing, product quality, shipment, and merchandising issues
- Analyze promotions and program effectiveness and recommend improvements
- Manage competitive retail comparisons and promotional funds
- Coordinate with marketing and field teams on merchandising initiatives
- Plan advertising materials and develop training resources
- Oversee Salesforce, Showpad, and Power BI sales technology platforms
- Maintain demo tool and inventory systems
- Support strategic initiatives that maximize sales and profitability
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Communications, Psychology, Business or related majors
- Recent graduate or early-career professional with less than 2 years of professional experience, including internship/co-op experience
- Sales internship experience
- Ability to analyze Power BI and Salesforce data to develop strategic growth plans
- Goal-oriented and highly driven to achieve measurable sales results
- Ability to apply strong product and market knowledge to drive sales
- Flexibility toward change and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Promotional and event success using creativity and problem solving
- Understanding of IT business systems including BW, Salesforce.com, and Tool Commerce
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Willingness to relocate anywhere within the US for 3 role rotations
- Willingness to travel and work occasional weekends, 8–10 annually
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record screening
- Ability to pass drug and criminal background checks
- Authorized to work for any employer in the US without employer sponsorship for an employment visa
- Ability to handle, train on, and demonstrate products, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform physical labor, including climbing ladders and standing for several hours a day
