About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead multiple squads, supporting people development through 1:1s, feedback, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • Handle hiring, onboarding, and performance management, including challenging situations.
  • Be accountable for the teams’ delivery health and predictability.
  • Track engineering metrics, including lead time, cycle time, change failure rate, and incidents.
  • Monitor tool and headcount costs in partnership with Product.
  • Work closely with backend, frontend, and mobile teams on architecture, quality, and technical debt discussions.
  • Ensure technical decisions are aligned with business needs.
  • Drive the continuous evolution of AI use in development by bringing new tools, techniques, and approaches into practice.
  • Foster a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvement by proposing and implementing enhancements to the operating model.
  • Align stakeholders on team outcomes, risks, and priorities.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading technology teams, ideally more than one squad.
  • Technical breadth to discuss architecture, quality, and trade-offs with the team without needing to be the technical authority.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary teams (backend, frontend, and mobile) and agile practices.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the AI applied to engineering ecosystem (agents, new tools, and workflows), with a track record of putting new developments into practice.
