About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Write and support key financial systems, including the bank’s ledgers and integrated systems
- Contribute to the Finance Engineering team responsible for accurate accounting of every transaction
- Ensure correctness and accuracy of transactions
- Record the underlying story of money as it moves through the bank
- Support and automate complex financial processes
- Work directly with treasurers and accountants
- Collaborate with projects and systems across the bank that have financial impact
- Participate in the full project lifecycle with internal stakeholders
- Design systems to solve problems
- Build resilient, maintainable systems and deliver new features
- Participate in the interview process, including a take-home technical test and technical interviews
Requirements
What you’ll need- Around 3–4 years of Java experience
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to write clear, concise, and maintainable code
- Good understanding of the lifecycle of a project
- Ability to engage with internal stakeholders
- Experience designing systems to solve problems
- Experience with Postgres is highly desirable
- Experience with Netsuite would be a bonus
- Java knowledge; TypeScript familiarity is useful but not required
- Familiarity with AWS and GCP
- Familiarity with distributed service-based architecture
- Familiarity with Kubernetes (EKS)
- Familiarity with TeamCity for CI/CD
- Familiarity with Terraform and Grafana
- Motivation to find elegant solutions to difficult technical problems
