About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead end-to-end procurement activity including sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and contracting
- Work on complex, high-value contracts across technology, data, operational services, and people-team categories
- Lead one or more procurement categories and support others
- Deliver cost savings through intelligent sourcing and negotiation
- Identify and exploit commercial levers and opportunities in existing contracts
- Work with new-to-bank suppliers and contract renewals
- Support the development of systems and processes as the team evolves
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor
- Work closely with Supplier Risk teams to ensure supplier onboarding follows process and regulations
- Report directly to the Head of Procurement
Requirements
What you’ll need- More than five years’ procurement experience
- Strong track record of career progression
- Strong academic background
- Financial Services experience preferable
- Consulting experience a plus
- Hands-on experience of the full Procurement cycle
- Experience sourcing top quality suppliers
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Comfortable developing/marking up contracts
- Strong analytical skills; spreadsheet modelling is a must
- Knowledge of basic financial analysis is a bonus
- Problem solver with strong critical reasoning, numeracy, and written and verbal communication
- Strong planning and project management
- Ability to work independently with a drive to deliver
- Ability to engage with and lead stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical skills to cut through ambiguity and understand the nub of a challenge
