About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle inbound and outbound calls in a high-tech environment
- Resolve general questions regarding insurance and financial assistance
- Process payments
- Make and answer calls on behalf of clients to resolve billing and payment issues using established work queues and call pools
- Respond professionally and thoroughly to patient/account-holder information requests
- Gain payment or arrange payment on behalf of clients as appropriate
- Follow client-specific protocols and policies
- Investigate and respond to client inquiries
- Enter and monitor payment arrangements
- Adhere to FDCPA, FCRA, HIPAA and other applicable laws
- Work Monday–Friday, 11:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. CST, with every other Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. CST
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years’ experience working in a Call Center or Customer Service function where contact with the public was a part of daily duties
- Knowledge/experience of medical terminology, patient billing, healthcare insurance and/or healthcare administration preferred
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Strong organization skills and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility in scheduling and assignments, including regular evening and Saturday work as business requires
- Ability to work successfully and cooperatively within a team-based environment
- Bilingual candidates provide additional support for bilingual calls
- Broadband internet connection required; no DSL or dial-up
- Hard-wired internet connection required; no Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi hotspots
- Minimum internet speed of 40 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload
- Camera must remain on from the start of training through the end of each scheduled shift, excluding designated breaks and lunch; after training, camera use as directed by supervisor or team expectations
- Must be based in the United States and reside in one of the listed eligible states
- Successful completion of all post-offer processing required
