About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle inbound and outbound calls in a high-tech environment
- Resolve general questions regarding insurance and financial assistance
- Process payments
- Make and answer calls on behalf of clients to resolve billing and payment issues using established work queues and call pools
- Respond professionally and thoroughly to patient/account-holder information requests
- Gain payment or arrange payment on behalf of clients as appropriate
- Follow client-specific protocols and policies
- Investigate and respond to client inquiries
- Enter and monitor payment arrangements
- Adhere to FDCPA, FCRA, HIPAA, and other applicable laws
- Work Monday–Friday, 11:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. CST, plus every other Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. CST
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years’ experience working in a call center or customer service function with daily public contact
- Knowledge/experience of medical terminology, patient billing, healthcare insurance and/or healthcare administration preferred
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Strong organization skills and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility in scheduling and assignments, including regular evening and Saturday work as required
- Ability to work successfully and cooperatively within a team-based environment
- Bilingual candidates provide additional support for bilingual calls
- Broadband internet connection; no DSL or dial-up
- Hard-wired internet connection required; no Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi hotspots
- Minimum internet speed of 40 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload
- Camera must remain on from the start of training through the end of each scheduled shift, excluding designated breaks and lunch; after training, camera use as directed by supervisor or team expectations
- Remote workers must be based in the United States and reside in AZ, NV, ID, MT, OH, TX, OK, KS, LA, AR, MO, IL, IA, MN, WI, MI, IN, KY, TN, MS, AL, GA, FL, NC, SC, PA, MD, or NM
- Successful completion of all post-offer processing required
