About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with execution of the Department of Financial Services’ responsibilities for the Florida PALM Project
  • Serve as a state subject matter expert in one or more financial process areas
  • Establish priorities and due dates with supervisors and leadership; track work items and deadlines
  • Prepare presentation materials and lead meetings with state agencies and stakeholders
  • Review statutes, rules, and regulatory changes to determine impacts to the Florida PALM solution
  • Serve as a functional expert in accounting and financial management functions
  • Collaborate with Florida PALM team members, DFS business owners, state agency business owners, enterprise business owners, and stakeholders on functional designs and configurations
  • Consult with subject matter experts, business users, and stakeholders; research statewide problems and recommend solutions
  • Identify, develop, and update production support processes
  • Create, manage, triage, and resolve tickets throughout the system development life cycle
  • Troubleshoot and analyze Florida PALM problems and lead corrective actions to resolution
  • Coordinate production changes, enhancements, bug fixes, and configuration changes
  • Analyze enhancement requests and recommend appropriate actions
  • Develop functional design documents and application development document changes
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and documentation for configuration changes and existing configuration issues
  • Develop and execute test scripts for assigned system modules
  • Lead functional reviews for design, testing, and related activities
  • Complete approved system configuration changes
  • Develop and update Florida PALM Knowledge Center articles
  • Assist agencies and enterprise partners with business process change impacts and training
  • Identify risks, issues, and design requirements for assigned system modules

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four (4) years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
  • A post-secondary degree in those fields may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
  • Two (2) years of experience performing business analysis functions, including working with subject matter experts, business users, or stakeholders to gather information, document expectations, and achieve the desired outcome
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite at the Project Site in Tallahassee, FL 100% of the time
  • Experience developing business process documentation to support production processes
  • Experience analyzing system and business process issues, identifying root causes, and resolving
  • Experience in requirements gathering, data analysis, design, development, testing and/or implementation of financial management systems
  • Experience working in team environments
  • Experience supporting system testing, UAT, or process improvement initiatives in an ERP environment
  • Experience with the Florida PALM Project assisting an agency or other entity with transition to Florida PALM and remediation of related systems
  • Four (4) years of experience in accounting or management of State financial management processes
  • Knowledge of systems evaluation, key-cause identification, information gathering and organization, critical thinking, upstream/downstream consequences, relationship building, communication, active learning, coordination, and computer/tools
  • Security background check, including fingerprint, as a condition of employment
