About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare briefing materials, decision memos, presentations, and leadership summaries
  • Coordinate bureau-level activities with leadership, agency divisions, external partners, and federal/state oversight entities
  • Support high-priority initiatives, legislative inquiries, and strategic planning
  • Track deadlines and deliverables across bureau units
  • Compile and synthesize project information for internal and external reporting
  • Identify process-improvement opportunities and support modernization and streamlining
  • Plan, organize, and execute key bureau projects
  • Develop and maintain project plans, milestone schedules, and issue logs
  • Coordinate internal teams and external partners to advance project objectives
  • Monitor progress and escalate risks or barriers to the Bureau Chief
  • Review deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and policy compliance
  • Coordinate routing, reviews, and approvals with leadership and subject-matter experts
  • Maintain current knowledge of Florida Medicaid, federal regulations, state statutes, administrative rules, the Florida Medicaid State Plan, and waivers
  • Research health care and industry trends relevant to Florida Medicaid and quality improvement
  • Research emerging federal and state regulations affecting Medicaid quality, oversight, and reporting
  • Write analyses summarizing program, fiscal, and compliance impacts
  • Recommend policy changes, operational adjustments, and strategic responses to the Bureau Chief
  • Ensure written materials comply with Agency and bureau style guides
  • Provide consultation through accurate presentation of data and program information
  • Represent the Agency at relevant meetings, conferences, workshops, and seminars
  • Prepare presentation materials as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four years of professional experience in program analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, and/or administrative work
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop recommendations, solve problems, and document work
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to conduct fact-finding research
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to formulate policies and procedures
  • Ability to organize data into logical formats for reports and other written materials
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions
  • Ability to travel with or without accommodations
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of practical social services, public health, or managed care
  • Preferred bachelor's and/or master's degree in health services, social work, psychology, public administration, health care, or social services administration; may substitute for four years of required experience
  • Successful completion of State and National criminal history background screening before employment
  • Subject to reasonable-suspicion drug testing under Florida's Drug-Free Workplace Act
