About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Determine client eligibility, provide services, and coordinate program activities for Tuberculosis, Refugee Health, and Employee Health Programs
  • Perform front desk reception, client check-in, registration, demographic and insurance verification, and client communications
  • Answer incoming calls, monitor voicemail, disseminate messages, and schedule appointments
  • Print daily schedules, enter service and billing data, and support payment processing
  • Complete I-693 forms, end-of-day reports, faxes, referrals, laboratory forms, and other documentation
  • Enter service information into HMS, Florida SHOTS, PRISM, and other electronic health record systems
  • Operate office equipment and maintain logs, inventories, records, and reports
  • Conduct inventories of clinical supplies, office supplies, vaccines, and active records
  • Order and reconcile supplies and transactions through MFMP and SAMAS
  • Monitor laboratory and contract billing, reconcile invoices, and track purchase order balances
  • Take and record vital signs, perform vision and hearing screenings, and obtain medical histories
  • Provide counseling and education based on assessed needs and program requirements
  • Maintain daily medication, immunization, clinical, and laboratory activity logs
  • Perform basic laboratory procedures and routine phlebotomy
  • Collect, identify, package, label, ship, and track specimens with proper documentation
  • Enter laboratory orders, process specimens, analyze and log results in tracking systems
  • Participate in disease control clinics, contact investigations, employee health testing, and N-95 respirator fit testing
  • Prepare collection and non-laboratory kits and restock clinical and laboratory supplies
  • Check medications, provide them to nursing staff, notify the state of receipt, and submit expired medications as required
  • Review and verify laboratory equipment, inspections, negative pressure room status, and equipment results
  • Participate in community screenings, outreach events, and education efforts
  • Provide cross-training and coverage for DOH Seminole programs, clinics, and outreach activities
  • Support quality assurance and quality/process improvement initiatives
  • Submit Employee Activity Records and complete mandatory training
  • Perform emergency duties and other assigned responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current, valid Driver’s License
  • Willingness to work in-office or in the field and physically come into the office daily as needed
  • Ability to work before, during, and/or beyond normal hours during emergencies, disasters, outbreak responses, or terrorist events
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective oral and written English communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with clients, staff, community partners, and diverse populations
  • Knowledge of confidentiality requirements, HIPAA, and applicable regulations
  • Front desk operations, client intake, and communication skills
  • Computer systems and electronic health record data entry skills
  • Knowledge of general office practices, administrative procedures, and record keeping
  • Accurate records management and ability to follow established procedures
  • Phone calls, voicemail, messages, and client inquiry management skills
